Toyota Sunset Criterium
Saturday, July 29, 2017
Professional and Amateur Bike Races / Kids Ride / Miracle Mile Foot Race, Now in its 19th year, the San Rafael Sunset Criterium has become part carnival, part madhouse, part Thunderdome. It has reached a critical mass of energy that circles among crowds and riders, across announcer and DJ, and through the streets and community, only to feed into the reputation of the next year. “Listen, this is criterium racing. This isn’t waiting for two hours to see guys pass in 10 seconds. This isn’t a TV commentator trying to add color to a grueling 8% grade climb through the Alps. This is “What the heck was that?” followed by “$#!* Here they come again!”” For more information on the event, visit sanrafaelsunset.com.
